Dear Parents and Students,
SEP CONFERENCES TO BE HELD
Beginning on Tuesday October 6, 2009 , SEP conferences will be held. It is a great time for us to meet with you and your child to go over their recent testing, set new goals, discuss any issues, and answer any questions. If you have yet to receive a time and date from us for this conference, let us know right away!!! We are looking forward to meeting with you and spending this time together.
Dates to KNOW:
October 6: The Living Planet: Aquarium in the Classroom
October 7: Water Cycle Game Due
October 13: A visit to the Bluebell Corn Maze
October 30: A short Halloween Party
Reading: We are forming into groups and are lucky enough to have two aides come and help us with some of these groups. Hopefully, by doing this, we will better be able to help your child with some of their needs in reading. To help us in this endeavor, please have your
Students read 30 minutes every night. Then parents should ask them what they have read.
Math: We have done addition, and subtraction and will continue to work on our Power Standards for fourth grade. Students need to practice their math facts every night!!!
Science: Water, Water, Everywhere Water!!! We are finishing up the “Water Cycle” with a unit and will be testing this week. Next unit of study will be the weather. This is a great time to be watching the sky, trying to see the weather changing.
Spelling: All students are in Words Their Way groups! Go to: www.spellingcity.com for games and review.
This is going to be a very exciting year. I look forward to meeting each of you. I look forward to having your child in my classroom. Let’s all have a great year together!
